Broadcast Television:

  • The Oscars was the most watched program in March with 20.3 million viewers across both ABC and the simulcast on Hulu, demonstrating the success of multiplatform distribution being more likely to reach the 18-34 demographic.
  • Broadcast accounted for 20.5% of TV usage in March.
  • Scripted dramas held 28% of total broadcast viewing.

Cable Television:

  • Cable reached 24.0% of TV usage.
  • March Madness helped increase sports viewership by 29% from February.
  • Cable news programs account for seven of the top ten cable broadcasts.

Streaming:

  • Streaming experienced an increase in viewership, holding 43.8% of TV usage in March.
  • The most streamed platform was Netflix, but the streaming service with the largest month over month increase was Max, which jumped 6%.
